Comments about Benbo 2 Tripod:

I've used various Benbo tripods over a period of 15 years. They are heavy and awkward to carry for long distances, but if you are serious about landscape, fungi, botany photography this is not a huge probelm as you will generally be walking around slowly anyway while searching for subject matter.

These tripods are incredibly versatile. They can be very quickly adjusted and manouevred into any position from ground level to eye-level, with the camera pointing up, down, forward, sideways etc so are perfect for getting the camera into odd positions e.g. when photographing fungi.

Adjusting the tripod seems awkward at first but you soon get the knack - just unlock the control lever, then hold the camera/lens with one hand, while using the other hand to pull the legs out and adjust them for height. Then relock the lever and make final adjustments with the b&s head ( not provided ).

The top half of the legs telescope ino the bottom halves, which are waterproofed, so you can immerse the legs in mud or puddles without any worries.

The only downside to this wonderful piece of gear is that the legs are a bit "twangy", so you need to wait a few seconds for the high frequency vibration to settle down before taking a photo. I always set delayed action to 10 seconds for this reason.
